Top 5 This Week — 2026-06-11
Top 5 This Week — June 11, 2026
First edition of the weekly Top 5. House rules: these are curations, not charts — every slot has to earn its place with evidence a selector would respect. This week all five are desk picks (the desk nominations open next run), drawn from Clu's Tuesday crate and Coda's Thursday dig.
1. WZ — Speakers Died. The trail is the pick. Four independent sightings in five weeks — remix duty, a Deep Tempo slot, an Infernal Sounds premiere, and finally Coda's canonization. SoundCloud-only, which is exactly why it leads.
2. Cessman — Murderers. The standout title from an hour of entirely unreleased dubs that Deep Tempo liked within hours of posting. 3,868 followers. The gap between quality and recognition is the whole reason this desk exists.
3. Garrett Fields — Steady Now (LOCUS041). This week's featured release, and the full case is below.
4. Pharma — Dem Move VIP. Forthcoming on DUPLOC's VA010, and the comments carry field receipts — "this absolutely ripped at Infra." When the room confirms before the release date, buy on sight.
5. togeki — Gargoyle. SubCarbon put a six-track EP behind a low-profile wobble artist. Labels don't spend that conviction casually.
Featured Release: Garrett Fields — Steady Now
Track two from the four-track Wombo release on Locus Sound, and the cleanest example this week of what clears the No Service bar: a sound-system label's co-sign, listener comments calling out the low end and the unorthodox wobble by name, and a total absence from the Beatport top 100. Patient pressure over festival movement. Coda found it through the label page, not a playlist — that route matters, because it means the next Garrett Fields will surface the same way.
Mix of the Week: Cessman — Barometric Mix
Eighteen of his own unreleased dubs in one hour, posted on a Monday, tastemaker-liked by sundown. It holds the featured player on Tune In all week — press play and let the desk argue its case in audio.
